News from EPI U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren to deliver major national address at symposium on Trump-era deregulation

U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) will deliver a major national address on the threat to public protections in the Trump era at a June 5 symposium hosted by the Coalition for Sensible Safeguards, a coalition of more than 160 consumer, small business, labor, scientific, research, good government, faith, community, health, environmental, and public interest groups, whose executive committee EPI serves on. EPI Director of Policy Heidi Shierholz will join a panel at the event focusing on deregulatory actions at key federal agencies; a second panel will highlight communities that have suffered as a result of inadequate regulation and enforcement. Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh will deliver closing remarks.

Lunch will be served following Warren’s address, and the event is open to the press and the public.

In addition, the coalition will release a report demonstrating the unprecedented scale and scope of the war on regulation. To obtain an embargoed copy, please email drosen@citizen.org.
