Israel’s Rise in Poverty, Inequality
Over the last several years, Israel’s economy has grown but so have inequality and poverty. Today’s EPI Snapshot, by Global Policy Network coordinator Tony Avirgan, finds that only those in the top 20% income bracket saw their share of income grow. Meanwhile, Israel’s poverty rate has grown to over 24%.
The Snapshot is linked to a country report on Israel that explores how these socio-economic trends reflect the major national and ethnic divides in the country.
